Dimensional Inspector (Mechanical Background)

Key Responsibilities
1. Dimensional Inspection & Surveying
Perform dimensional control surveys for pile sections, jacket legs, braces, nodes, and assemblies.
Verify fit-up alignment, straightness, ovality, and tolerances before and after welding.
Conduct as-built surveys using total stations, laser trackers, or 3D scanning tools.
2. Fit-Up & Assembly Control
Ensure proper alignment of pile splices,
Check verticality, levelness, and orientation of jacket structures during assembly.
3. Tolerance Verification
Apply project specifications and standards (e.g., API, ISO, AWS) for dimensional tolerances.
Identify deviations and ensure corrective actions are implemented before progression.
Maintain tolerance control for critical interfaces like pile stabbing points and mud mats.
4. Survey Equipment Operation
Operate and maintain surveying instruments:
Total Station, Auto Level, Laser Tracker / 3D Scanner Ensure calibration and accuracy of instruments.
5. Data Analysis & Reporting
Prepare dimensional control reports, inspection records, and as-built documentation.
Provide accurate survey data for engineering and construction teams.
