An Accounting Staff member supports the finance department by maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring accurate accounting processes.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Record Financial Transactions
Maintain accurate accounting records
Post journal entries into accounting systems
Update general ledger accounts
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Process supplier invoices and payments
Prepare customer billing and follow up on collections
Monitor outstanding balances
Bank Reconciliation
Reconcile bank statements with company records
Identify and resolve discrepancies
Financial Reporting
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Generate expense and revenue reports
Payroll Support
Assist in salary preparation and payroll processing
Maintain employee payroll records
Tax and VAT Compliance
Prepare VAT/tax documentation
Support tax filing and government compliance requirements
Budget and Expense Monitoring
Track company expenses
Help prepare budgets and cost reports
Data Entry and Filing
Maintain organized accounting files and records
Ensure confidentiality of financial information
Audit Assistance
Support internal and external audits
Prepare requested financial documents
Use of Accounting Software
Operate accounting systems such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle NetSuite, or TallyPrime
