Position Title: Bakery & Pastry Chef
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and creative Bakery & Pastry Chef to prepare high-quality baked goods and desserts. The ideal candidate has experience in bread production, pastries, cakes, viennoiserie, and dessert presentation while maintaining excellent hygiene and kitchen standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, desserts, and bakery items.
* Develop new recipes and seasonal menu items.
* Decorate cakes and pastries with attention to presentation and quality.
* Monitor ingredient freshness and stock levels.
* Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and appearance.
* Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
* Maintain cleanliness and comply with food safety and hygiene standards.
* Train and supervise bakery assistants or junior staff.
* Control food costs and minimize waste.
* Coordinate with kitchen and management teams for daily production planning.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Bakery Chef, Pastry Chef, or similar role.
* Knowledge of baking techniques, dough fermentation, chocolate work, and dessert preparation.
* Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays if required.
* Strong creativity and attention to detail.
* Good time-management and organizational skills.
* Understanding of food safety regulations.
* Culinary or pastry certification is preferred.
