We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented MEP Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and optimizing MEP engineering designs, checking complex project drawings, scrutinizing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and overseeing technical specifications. You will act as the core technical anchor ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are designed for maximum efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Design Analysis & Review: Evaluate, critique, and optimize draft MEP designs, schematic drawings, and blueprints submitted by consultants or contractors.
BOQ & Cost Scrutiny: Analyze and verify Bills of Quantities (BOQs), material specifications, and technical data sheets to ensure accuracy and prevent cost overruns.
Value Engineering: Identify design gaps, propose alternative cost-effective engineering solutions, and ensure systems meet high quality and sustainability standards.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems with the overall project design.
Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all draft designs strictly adhere to local building codes, international engineering standards, and safety regulations.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of solid hands-on experience in MEP design, review, and estimation for commercial, industrial, or large-scale residential projects.
Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge in analyzing drawings for HVAC, electrical power distribution, lighting, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting systems.
Software Skills: High proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), and MEP calculation/estimation software.
Analytical Skillset: Exceptional ability to read between the lines of a BOQ and spot discrepancies before they reach the execution phase.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent practical expertise).
