An Elevator & Escalator Technician installs, maintains, repairs, and inspects elevators, escalators, moving walkways, and related vertical transportation systems to ensure safe and reliable operation. They diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, perform preventive maintenance, replace defective components, and test systems according to safety standards and manufacturer specifications.

Typical Responsibilities

Install elevator and escalator equipment and control systems

Repair or replace motors, cables, brakes, sensors, and control panels
