About the Role
We are seeking a Steel Structural Engineer to join our engineering team and support the design, analysis, and delivery of steel structure projects from concept through fabrication and site execution. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, practical site understanding, and experience coordinating with drafting, fabrication, and construction teams.
Key Responsibilities
Perform structural analysis and design of steel structures (buildings, platforms, pipe racks, mezzanines, shelters, etc.)
Prepare and review design calculations, technical reports, and engineering documentation
Develop and check GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and connection details in coordination with the drafting team
Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., AISC, ASTM, AWS, Eurocode, BS, ASCE as applicable)
Design and review steel connections (bolted/welded), including base plates and anchor bolts
Coordinate with architectural, MEP, and civil teams to resolve interface issues
Support procurement by reviewing material specifications and vendor documents
Provide technical support during fabrication, inspection, erection, and site execution
Attend project meetings, conduct site visits, and support RFI/submittal responses
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master’s is a plus)
5+ years experience in steel structural engineering and project delivery
Strong knowledge of steel design principles, stability, and connection design
Proficiency in structural tools such as:
STAAD.Pro / ETABS / SAP2000 / Tekla Structural Designer / Robot
Working knowledge of detailing tools: Tekla / AutoCAD (preferred)
Ability to interpret and produce shop drawings and fabrication packages
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams
Preferred / Added Advantage
Familiarity with QA/QC, WPS/PQR, welding inspection basics
Experience dealing with fabrication shops and site erection teams
Membership/Certification: PE, PMP, AWS, etc. (optional)
