## Job Description – Radiation Safety Officer (RSO)

**Job Title:** Radiation Safety Officer (RSO)
**Department:** HSE / Operations
**Location:** Based on Project Location
**Reporting To:** Operations Manager / HSE Manager

### Job Purpose:

To oversee all radiation safety activities and ensure compliance with NRRC regulations, company safety procedures, and operational safety requirements at project sites.

### Key Responsibilities:

* Monitor and implement radiation safety procedures at work sites.
* Ensure compliance with NRRC regulations and other related regulatory requirements.
* Supervise the safe use, storage, and transportation of radioactive sources.
* Conduct radiation risk assessments and implement proper control measures.
* Monitor radiation exposure levels for employees and ensure limits are maintained within acceptable standards.
* Inspect and monitor radiation measuring devices and ensure proper calibration and functionality.
* Prepare radiation safety reports, records, and inspection documentation.
* Conduct radiation safety training and awareness programs for employees.
* Investigate radiation incidents or emergencies and implement corrective actions.
* Coordinate with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits.

### Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Health Physics, Engineering, or related field.
* Valid Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) License issued by NRRC.
* Experience in radiation safety or operations involving radioactive sources.
* Strong knowledge of radiation safety regulations and standards in Saudi Arabia.
* Ability to use radiation monitoring and measuring equipment.
* Good reporting, communication, and fieldwork skills.

### Additional Requirements:

* Transferable Iqama.
* Willingness to work at project sites and travel when required.
* Good English communication skills are an advantage.
