Civil Engineer & Civil QC Inspector - Duties and Responsibilities:
▪ Review and submit project drawings, method statements, pre-qualification of sub-contractors and suppliers, material approval test reports, and material submittals from sub-contractors.
▪ Review and approve project drawings, method statements, and material submittals related to steel structure fabrication and installation.
▪ Review and analyze concrete mix designs and asphalt mix designs to ensure they meet project requirements and industry standards for quality, durability, and performance.
▪ Implement quality control procedures, including method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), checklists, and testing to meet project requirements.
▪ Conduct inspections of steel structures, particularly Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB), to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
▪ Conduct site inspections with contractors according to Requests for Inspection (RFIs) or Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) and approve work in accordance with standards and specifications.
▪ Inspect materials to verify compliance with approved material approval test reports, project standards, and specifications upon delivery to the site.
▪ Verify the quality of materials used in steel structure construction, including steel members, bolts, welding electrodes, and protective coatings.
▪ Collaborate with civil Engineers of the main contractor to address ongoing work issues at the site.
▪ Conduct frequent site visits to monitor contractor’s activities and ensure alignment with approved drawings as a Surveillance Inspections.
▪ Monitor, inspect and Witness Torque Test for connections Bolts of Rafters & Column joints, bracing, and alignment of steel members during & after erection to ensure structural integrity and safety.
▪ Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Site Observation Reports (SORs) to contractors for work not meeting quality and project specifications, and follow up for closure.
▪ Prepare snag/punch lists with engineers, ensure closure, document, and obtain approval prior to handover.
▪ Conduct thorough inspections of asphalt pavement to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
▪ Verify proper compaction levels of Sub grade, Sub base & Base Course layers, Check Prime Coat, Binder Course, Tack coat and Surface course and material quality to guarantee durability and longevity of the asphalt surface.
▪ Inspect excavation, Sub-grade, Sub-Base and Base Course layers compaction & Field Density Test (FDT) prior to lean concrete work, concrete pavement, and asphalt pavement.
▪ Ensure all work is conducted within Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidelines.
▪ Conduct slump tests and check concrete temperature with third-party inspection engineers upon arrival at the site.
▪ Witness lab testing of concrete samples, Asphalt Core sample, steel bar samples, Sub Grade, Sub Base and Base Course soil material samples, Dune sand and Soil Fertilizer mix samples to check material quality and verify compliance with project specifications.
▪ Inspect reinforcement and formwork for footings, retaining walls, block work, tiles, grouting under base plates, waterproofing in wet areas, and finishing work to ensure adherence to project requirements.
▪ Prepare daily and weekly construction reports and submit them on time.
▪ Attend weekly and monthly meetings with senior engineers, managers, and clients to discuss project progress.
▪ Participate in both internal and external audits to ensure compliance with project specifications.
▪ Conduct final inspections and snagging of completed steel structures before handover to ensure quality and readiness for occupancy or use.
▪ Responsible for issuing and closely checking punch lists or snag lists for initial handover.
