A Cardiovascular Echocardiography Technologist (Echo Tech) is a specialized medical sonographer who uses ultrasound technology to create detailed images of the heart. They work directly with cardiologists to diagnose and monitor heart conditions by evaluating cardiac chambers, valves, and blood flow.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform Scans: Execute various echocardiograms, including Transthoracic (TTE), Trans esophageal (TEE), and Stress echocardiograms.
• Prepare Patients: Explain procedures, address concerns, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
• Operate Equipment: Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot complex ultrasound imaging machines.
• Analyze Data: Review preliminary images, measure heart anatomy and blood flow, and provide comprehensive reports to cardiologists.
Typical Qualifications & Skills
• Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in diagnostic medical sonography or cardiovascular technology.
• Certification: Industry-recognized credentials such as the Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
• Physical & Technical Skills: Strong analytical skills, physical stamina to maneuver equipment, and knowledge of cardiac anatomy and hemodynamics.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal communication and the ability to provide emotional support to patients during stressful diagnostic procedures.
• Duty: 8 Hours
• Weekly one day off.
• Salary depends on experience (BHD320.000 to 360.000)
