Senior O&M Engineer – Remote Solar & Weather Monitoring Stations (KSA)

We are hiring a Senior Operations & Maintenance Engineer to keep an installed fleet of remote solar measurement and meteorological monitoring stations across Saudi Arabia operational, accurate and delivering valid data.

Key Responsibilities:

Execute the planned preventive maintenance programme across the assigned station fleet
Respond to station alarms, data gaps and communication failures; diagnose root cause and restore service within agreed response times
Clean and inspect radiometers and soiling station optics, recording pre- and post-cleaning readings
Verify sensor alignment, levelling, orientation and mounting integrity at every visit
Manage the instrument calibration cycle and ensure coefficients are updated in the logger and data record
Inspect and maintain the station power system: PV module, charge controller, batteries and DC-DC conversion
Inspect masts, guys, fixings, fencing, earthing and lightning protection and rectify defects
Test and restore communications: modem, SIM, antenna and signal quality
Verify data quality at station level: logging, timestamps, plausible readings and data delivery to servers
Maintain station history records and manage field spares
Plan efficient maintenance routes and campaigns across the region
Report availability, data completeness, fault statistics and MTTR; support root cause analysis
Comply with HSE for remote/lone working, working at height, electrical work and vehicle safety
Train and mentor field technicians

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, Mechatronics or related Engineering discipline
5 to 9 years of O&M experience on field-based instrumented assets
Experience maintaining meteorological or solar measurement stations, solar PV plants, telecom sites, environmental monitoring networks or oil & gas field instrumentation is strongly preferred
Good knowledge of low-voltage DC power systems, batteries, solar supply, calibration and measurement traceability
Valid Saudi driving license and willingness to travel extensively across the Kingdom (mandatory)
Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration preferred
First aid and lone working safety training preferred
GCC experience, ideally in Saudi Arabia, and transferable Iqama preferred

Location: Field-based across project sites in Saudi Arabia
