The Facilities, Maintenance & Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operation, maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and functionality of all school buildings, grounds, equipment, and facilities. The role ensures that the school environment remains safe, clean, compliant, and conducive to learning while supervising maintenance technicians, cleaners, contractors, and service providers.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities & Maintenance
Supervise daily maintenance operations across the campus.
Conduct routine inspections of buildings, classrooms, offices, playgrounds, and common areas.
Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, generators, elevators, fire systems, and other infrastructure.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
Monitor maintenance logs and work order systems.
Liaise with contractors, vendors, and service providers.
Housekeeping & Cleaning
Supervise all cleaning staff and outsourced housekeeping teams.
Ensure classrooms, toilets, corridors, cafeterias, and outdoor areas are maintained to high cleanliness standards.
Conduct daily cleanliness inspections.
Manage cleaning schedules and deep-cleaning programs.
Monitor cleaning supplies and inventory.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with Ministry regulations, health and safety standards, and school policies.
Conduct regular safety inspections.
Monitor fire safety equipment and emergency systems.
Assist in emergency preparedness drills and procedures.
Report hazards and coordinate corrective actions.
Grounds & Campus Operations
Oversee landscaping, parking areas, sports facilities, and outdoor spaces.
Ensure proper waste management and recycling procedures.
Support school events by coordinating facility setup and logistics.
Staff Supervision
Supervise maintenance personnel, cleaners, drivers, and support staff as assigned.
Allocate duties and monitor performance.
Provide training on safety and operational procedures.
Maintain attendance and performance records.
Required Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Services, Maintenance Management, or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience supervising facilities or maintenance operations.
Experience in schools, hospitals, hotels, or large facilities preferred.
Knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance, and health & safety regulations.
