Position Summary
The Heavy Vehicles and Machinery Maintenance Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing preventive and corrective maintenance activities for heavy vehicles, forklifts, cranes, production machinery, and other mobile and stationary equipment. The role ensures maximum equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for heavy vehicles and machinery.
Supervise maintenance technicians and external service providers.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment failures.
Ensure the availability and reliability of forklifts, cranes, loaders, trucks, and production equipment.
Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Coordinate equipment inspections, repairs, and overhauls.
Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance-related procurement requirements.
Ensure compliance with company safety policies and industry regulations.
Prepare maintenance reports, failure analyses, and performance metrics.
Support the installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment.
Collaborate with Production, Operations, and HSE departments to minimize downtime and improve productivity.
Control maintenance costs and optimize resource utilization.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Professional certifications in maintenance or reliability engineering are an advantage.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance of heavy vehicles, cranes, forklifts, and industrial machinery.
Experience in manufacturing, construction, steel, pipe, or heavy industrial environments is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel engine, and power transmission systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance planning systems.
Leadership and team management skills.
Strong communication and reporting abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
