The Pipe Fabricator is responsible for fabricating piping spools and assemblies in accordance with approved isometric drawings and project specifications. Work shall be performed to meet quality requirements as defined by the project ITP and applicable WPS/PQR.
Key Responsibilities
• Read and interpret piping isometric drawings, spool sheets, and bill of materials (BOM).
• Perform fit-up and assembly of carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping materials.
• Ensure correct material identification and traceability (heat number, material certificates) prior to fabrication.
• Perform or assist in weld fit-up activities in compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Coordinate with QC Inspector for dimensional checks, fit-up inspections, and NDT hold points as per ITP.
• Maintain cleanliness of fabricated spools including proper end capping, storage, and identification marking.
• Adhere to project HSE requirements, including PPE compliance, housekeeping, and safe use of fabrication tools and equipment.
• Report material shortages, non-conformances, or drawing discrepancies to the Piping Foreman promptly.
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial pipe fabrication (oil & gas, petrochemical, or power plant preferred).
• Ability to read isometric drawing and P&ID drawings.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.3 fabrication requirements and material classifications.
• Valid trade certificate or equivalent vocational qualification preferred.
