Job Summary
The Telecom Tower Rigger is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of telecommunications equipment mounted on towers, rooftops, monopoles, and other elevated structures. The role requires working at heights, following strict safety procedures, and supporting mobile network deployment projects across Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities
* Climb telecommunications towers, monopoles, and rooftop structures to perform installation and maintenance activities.
* Install and align antennas, Remote Radio Units (RRUs), microwave dishes, feeders, jumpers, and associated telecom equipment.
* Perform cable routing, dressing, labeling, and securing according to engineering standards.
* Conduct tower inspections and identify structural defects, corrosion, loose bolts, or safety hazards.
* Assist in commissioning, integration, and testing of telecom equipment.
* Follow rigging plans and lifting procedures for safe installation of equipment.
* Complete site documentation, checklists, and progress reports.
* Ensure compliance with customer standards and project specifications.
* Maintain tools, safety equipment, and climbing gear in good condition.
* Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities on telecom sites.
* Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors during project execution.
Safety Responsibilities
* Comply with Saudi occupational safety regulations and company HSE policies.
* Conduct pre-climb inspections of towers and personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Use full-body harnesses, fall arrest systems, lanyards, and other approved climbing equipment.
* Participate in toolbox talks and risk assessments before commencing work.
* Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses immediately.
Required Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Certification in tower climbing and rescue techniques preferred.
* Valid working-at-heights certification.
* First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
* Ability to read basic engineering drawings and installation diagrams.
Experience
* 1–5 years of experience in telecom tower rigging, wireless infrastructure, or related field.
* Experience with mobile network operators such as stc, Mobily, or Zain Saudi Arabia is an advantage.
* Experience installing 4G/5G equipment and microwave links is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
* Comfortable working at heights exceeding 50 meters.
* Physical fitness and ability to lift equipment safely.
* Knowledge of telecom infrastructure and site installation standards.
* Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
* Ability to work in remote locations and travel frequently within Saudi Arabia.
* Basic English communication skills; Arabic is an advantage.
* Teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
Working Conditions
* Outdoor field work in varying weather conditions.
* Frequent travel across Saudi Arabia.
* Rotational schedules and occasional night work may be required.
* Work at heights and in remote locations.
