Site Engineer â?? N.J Contracting Company â?? Riyadh Region, Saudi Arabia 2025 â?? Present
Project Description:
Construction of a new 132kV/13.8kV Substation, including complete civil, structural, architectural, and finishing
works. The facility consists of a two-story control building, boundary walls, equipment foundations, cable trenches,
and associated infrastructure. The primary construction materials include reinforced concrete, precast concrete
elements, and structural steel structures. The project also includes the construction of a new 132kV Double Circuit
Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) comprising approximately 65 high-voltage steel towers, along with
underground 132kV cable connections between the transmission line and the substation. The scope covers tower
foundations, tower erection, conductor stringing, underground cable installation, and all associated civil and
electrical works. The project is owned by the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC).
â?¢ Initiating & Planning:
â?? Reviewed IFC drawings, technical specifications, and shop drawings for the 132kV
transmission line, underground cable works, and substation civil works, identifying and
resolving design discrepancies through coordination meetings with consultants and project
stakeholders.
â?? Conducted quantity take-offs for tower foundations, underground cable civil works, and
substation structures, and submitted material requirements to the procurement department to
ensure timely availability of resources.
â?? Participated in planning and coordination meetings with the planning engineer to align
construction activities, manpower allocation, equipment utilization, and material delivery
with the approved project schedule.
â?¢ Executing:
â?? Supervised all on-site civil works related to the 132kV transmission line, including
excavation, reinforcement, formwork, concrete pouring, curing, and backfilling for tower
foundations.
â?? Oversaw the execution of underground cable civil works, including cable trenches, duct
banks, manholes, and associated infrastructure connecting the transmission line to the
substation.
â?? Supervised substation civil works, including equipment foundations, cable trenches, control
building structures, boundary walls, drainage systems, and site development works, ensuring
compliance with SEC specifications and approved drawings.
â?? Coordinated and monitored subcontractorsâ?? activities, ensuring productivity targets,
construction quality, and compliance with project requirements and safety regulations.
â?? Delivered completed construction activities for internal inspection and subsequent
submission to the SEC consultant.
â?¢ Monitoring & Controlling:
â?? Prepared and submitted daily and weekly progress reports, highlighting completed activities,
construction challenges, and upcoming work plans.
â?? Monitored construction progress against the approved baseline schedule and coordinated
with the planning team to implement corrective actions when required.
â?? Conducted quality inspections in coordination with the QA/QC engineer and arranged
laboratory testing for soil, concrete, asphalt, and compaction works to verify compliance with
project specifications and SEC requirements.
â?? Monitored safety practices on-site in coordination with the HSE team, identifying potential
hazards and ensuring implementation of approved safety procedures.
â?? Controlled material inventory on-site, monitored stock levels, and coordinated timely
procurement and delivery of construction materials to support uninterrupted project
execution.
â?¢ Closing:
â?? Submitted completed civil works for QA/QC inspection and ensured all quality
documentation was completed prior to consultant inspection.
â?? Coordinated final inspections, punch-list closure, and handover of completed tower
foundations, underground cable civil works, and substation structures to the SEC consultant.
â?? Ensured all material approvals, test reports, inspection requests, and as-built documentation
were properly compiled and submitted in accordance with SEC quality management
requirements.
