Josh Stone Design Studio is a boutique, high-end interior design practice with projects spanning the UK, Bahrain, USA, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia. Known for its layered, timeless approach to interiors and attention to craftsmanship, the studio works across residential, hospitality and commercial sectors. As our presence in the Middle East continues to grow, we are seeking a talented and ambitious Mid-Weight Interior Designer to join our Bahrain team.
This is an opportunity to work on a diverse range of international projects, contributing throughout the design process from concept development through to site implementation and project completion.
The Role
We are looking for a confident and capable Interior Designer with strong design instincts, excellent organisational skills and a practical understanding of project delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with Josh and the wider studio team, developing design concepts, preparing presentations and specifications, coordinating with suppliers and consultants, and regularly attending site to oversee the implementation of design works.
This role requires someone who is equally comfortable working within a design studio environment and on construction sites, liaising with contractors, reviewing progress, resolving design queries and ensuring projects are delivered in line with the studio's vision and standards.
A solid understanding of technical drawing packages, detailing, and interior architecture is essential. Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred, allowing you to review, amend and coordinate drawing information where required.

Key Responsibilities
Design Development
• Assist in the development of interior design concepts from initial brief through to completion.
• Prepare mood boards, material palettes, presentations and client-facing design documentation.
• Research and specify furniture, lighting, finishes, fabrics, sanitaryware and bespoke joinery items.
• Contribute to the development once of detailed design packages and project specifications.
Documentation & Coordination
• Review and coordinate drawing packages, schedules and specifications.
• Prepare FF&E schedules and material specifications.
• Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers and consultants to obtain technical information, pricing and lead times.
• Review shop drawings, material submissions and samples to ensure compliance with design intent.
Site Attendance & Project Delivery
• Attend project sites regularly throughout construction and installation phases.
• Work directly with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to coordinate the implementation of design works.
• Respond to site queries and assist in resolving design and construction-related issues.
• Monitor quality of workmanship and ensure finishes and detailing are delivered to the required standard.
• Participate in site meetings and provide clear feedback to both contractors and the design team.
• Assist with project handovers, snagging and final installation coordination.
Studio & Client Support
• Support project management and programme tracking across multiple projects.
• Assist in preparing client presentations and design reviews.
• Maintain clear communication with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively within a small, fast-paced design team while managing responsibilities independently.
Skills & Requirements
* Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or a related discipline.
* Minimum 3–5 years’ professional experience within an interior design or architectural practice.
* Strong design, presentation and material specification skills.
* Experience producing and reviewing drawing packages and technical documentation.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit would be advantageous.
* Strong understanding of construction processes, detailing and site coordination.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
* Fluent written and spoken English.
* Must be a Bahraini national and currently based in Bahrain.
* Must meet the applicable eligibility requirements for employment support under a Tamkeen programme.
* Must be eligible to register as a full-time employee with the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO).
* A valid Bahraini driving licence is required, ideally with access to a personal vehicle for regular attendance at sites and meetings.

Salary
Salary expectations to be discussed and included on your application. However, the role offers significant growth within the industry, with company growth targeting a larger team and purpose built office, with project growth across the GCC, Europe and USA. Starting salary will be reviewed periodically dependant upon growth of the employee and increased responsibilities.
