The Jewellery Caster is responsible for carrying out the casting process of gold jewellery, ensuring high-quality castings with minimal defects and metal loss. The role involves operating casting equipment, preparing molds, melting alloys, monitoring casting parameters, and maintaining production quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor jewellery casting machines safely and efficiently.
Prepare investment molds and ensure proper burnout cycles.
Melt gold and alloys according to production requirements.
Perform vacuum or centrifugal casting processes.
Monitor metal temperatures and casting parameters.
Inspect cast pieces for defects such as porosity, shrinkage, miscasts, and cracks.
Identify and troubleshoot casting issues to improve production quality.
Control metal loss and maintain accurate production records.
Coordinate with CAD, wax, and production departments to ensure smooth workflow.
Maintain casting equipment and report maintenance requirements.
Follow company quality, safety, and production procedures.
Assist in refining and recycling precious metals when required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in jewellery casting.
Experience working with gold jewellery manufacturing.
Knowledge of investment casting processes and precious metal alloys.
Experience operating vacuum and/or centrifugal casting machines.
Ability to read production specifications and casting requirements.
Understanding of metal loss control and quality standards.
