DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITY
• Perform welding, fabrication, and repair of drilling rig structures, equipment, and components.
• Execute SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW welding as per approved procedures and project requirements.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Conduct fit-up and alignment of pipes, structural members, and equipment before welding.
• Repair damaged rig equipment, handrails, platforms, tanks, and support structures.
• Inspect welded joints for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Carry out cutting, grinding, gouging, and preparation of materials for welding activities.
• Ensure welding consumables are properly stored, handled, and utilized.
• Follow company safety procedures, hot work permits, and HSE regulations.
• Perform routine maintenance on welding machines and related tools.
• Coordinate with supervisors, rig crews, and maintenance teams to complete work safely and efficiently.
