We are seeking an experienced Marine Supervisor to oversee daily marine construction activities including dredging, piling, rock filling, quay wall construction, and vessel operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in marine works, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage site crews and equipment to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily marine construction activities including dredging, piling, rock dumping, quay wall construction, and subsea pipeline support works
Manage site crews including foremen, operators, riggers, and general workers; assign tasks and monitor productivity
Coordinate with project engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors for smooth execution of marine works
Ensure all activities comply with approved method statements, drawings, specifications, and safety standards
Monitor marine plant and equipment including barges, excavators, cranes, tugs, and dredgers
Conduct daily pre-start inspections of equipment and ensure all machinery is in safe working condition
Enforce HSE protocols including permits, toolbox talks, PPE compliance, and emergency procedures
Monitor material deliveries including rock, aggregates, concrete, and steel; ensure proper handling and storage
Maintain accurate daily records including work progress, manpower, equipment usage, and materials consumed
Report delays, incidents, or technical issues to the Construction Manager or Project Engineer
Liaise with survey teams for positioning, bathymetry, and as-built verification
Ensure vessels and barges are properly moored, secured, and compliant with safety regulations
Coordinate with marine coordinators for vessel movements and logistics
Conduct quality inspections to ensure work meets project specifications
Participate in daily progress meetings and provide input on construction sequences
Mentor and guide junior staff and crew members
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma or certificate in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Civil Engineering, or related field
Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a Marine Supervisor or similar role in marine construction, dredging, or offshore projects
Strong knowledge of marine construction methods including piling, dredging, rock filling, concrete works, and subsea operations
Experience with marine equipment including barges, excavators, cranes, dredgers, and tugs
Understanding of safety regulations including SOLAS, MARPOL, and local marine requirements
Valid offshore safety certifications (BOSIET/HUET) preferred if working offshore
Familiarity with permit-to-work systems and risk assessment procedures
Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of planning software is an advantage
Fluency in English; knowledge of Hindi/Urdu or Arabic is a plus
