Job Summary
The Logistics and Procurement Executive plays a pivotal role in the company’s supply chain by managing the end-to-end process of sourcing goods and ensuring their efficient delivery. In a trading environment, this role is responsible for negotiating with global suppliers, managing purchase orders, coordinating with freight forwarders, and ensuring that imports/exports comply with customs regulations. The ultimate goal is to minimize sourcing costs and transit times while maintaining high product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing & Procurement: Identify reliable suppliers, request quotes (RFQs), negotiate pricing and payment terms, and issue purchase orders (POs).
Supplier Management: Evaluate vendor performance based on delivery timelines, quality, and cost-efficiency to maintain a healthy supply chain.
Logistics Coordination: Arrange sea, air, or land freight by coordinating with shipping lines and freight forwarders to optimize shipping routes and costs.
Customs & Compliance: Prepare and review essential shipping documents (e.g., Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists) to ensure smooth customs clearance and regulatory compliance.
Inventory & Tracking: Monitor shipment statuses in real-time, troubleshoot transit delays, and coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure accurate inventory receiving.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 2–5 years of experience in procurement, shipping, or logistics, ideally within a trading or import/export environment.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of Incoterms (e.g., FOB, CIF, EXW), customs clearance procedures, and international shipping documentation.
Core Competencies: Sharp negotiation skills, excellent organization, problem-solving under pressure, and proficiency in ERP software (like SAP or Oracle) or Excel.
