Job Description: Low Current (ELV) Technician
Position Summary
A Low Current / ELV Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning,
troubleshooting, and maintenance of Extra-Low Voltage systems used in commercial,
residential, and industrial projects. These systems include CCTV, Fire Alarm, Access
Control, Public Address, Structured Cabling, Intercom, BMS interfaces, and other
safety/security systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, terminate, and test CCTV systems (IP & analog), including cameras, NVRs,
DVRs, and network switches.
• Install and program Fire Alarm Systems (addressable & conventional), including
detectors, MCPs, sounders, and control panels.
• Perform wiring, conduit installation, cable pulling, and panel mounting for all ELV
systems.
• Install and configure Access Control Systems (door controllers, card readers,
magnetic locks).
• Install and maintain Public Address (PA) systems, speakers, amplifiers, and control
units.
• Perform structured cabling (Cat6, Cat6A, fiber optic termination & testing).
• Conduct system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting for all ELV systems.
• Read and interpret MEP drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and civil teams during installation.
• Prepare daily reports, material requests, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Civil Defense, NFPA, and project specifications.
• Support integration with BMS, security systems, and IT networks.
Required Skills & Competencies
• Strong knowledge of CCTV, Fire Alarm, Access Control, Intercom, and PA
systems.
• Ability to use testing tools: multimeter, continuity tester, network tester, fiber
OTDR.
• Experience with brands like Honeywell, Bosch, Hikvision, Dahua, Edwards,
Siemens, Notifier (depending on project).
• Understanding of IP networking basics (IP addressing, PoE, switches).
• Ability to read shop drawings, riser diagrams, and cable schedules.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of low voltage safety standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
• Diploma or ITI in Electrical / Electronics / Communication Engineering.
• 2–7 years of experience in ELV/Low Current systems (Saudi/GCC experience
preferred).
• Valid Saudi transferable Iqama (for expatriates).
• Certifications in Fire Alarm or CCTV systems are an advantage.
