Job Responsibilities
Preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of polymer processing and
testing equipment, including extruders, injection molding machines, blow molding
machines, blown film and cast film lines, compounding and pelletizing lines, sheet and
composite lines, rubber presses, pipe testing systems, and associated auxiliaries such as
dryers, loaders, chillers, and compressors.
6. TECHNICAL COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
6.1. Electrical Safety & Compliance (Mandatory)
- LOTO and verification of zero energy
- Safe work around MCCs, panels, heaters, rotating equipment
- Reading single-line diagrams, schematics, panel layouts
- Grounding/earthing awareness
6.2. Power Distribution & Motor Control
- MCC components: breakers, contactors, overloads, soft starters
- 3-phase systems, phase loss/imbalance checks
- Motor troubleshooting: AC, brake, servo motors
- Use of multimeter, clamp meter, megger
6.3. Drives – VFD / Servo Systems
- Fault diagnosis: overcurrent, overvoltage, overtemp, earth fault
- Parameter backup/restore and configuration checks
- Basic tuning support and test runs
- Understanding braking resistors and line reactors
6.4. PLC & Machine Controls
- PLC I/O checks, interlocks, permissives
- Online diagnostics (Siemens / Allen-Bradley)
- Safety circuits: E-stop, safety relays, safety PLC
- HMI alarms, trends, diagnostics
6.5. Instrumentation & Sensors
- Thermocouples, RTDs, wiring, shielding
- Pressure transducers, 4–20 mA signal checks
- Proximity sensors, encoders, load cells
- Solenoid valves and actuators
6.6. Heating & Temperature Control
- Band/cartridge heaters, barrel zones, hot runners
- SSRs, contactors, fuses, controllers
- Diagnosing heating faults and temperature instability
6.7. Industrial Communication & Networking
- Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Modbus basics
- Remote I/O and drive communications
- Backups and controlled access
6.8. Troubleshooting & Documentation
- Structured fault finding and root cause analysis
- SAP PM documentation and reporting
- Preparing data for OEM support
