● Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and systems using Laravel (PHP) and Vue.js
● Contribute to architectural decisions and help drive scalable, maintainable, and high-performance technical solutions
● Work with distributed systems, queue-based architectures, Kafka, and event-driven patterns
● Optimise platform performance, reliability, scalability, and overall system stability
● Collaborate closely with Head of Development, DevOps Engineers, and Senior Developers on technical initiatives and infrastructure improvements
● Support engineering best practices, clean code principles, and continuous technical improvement
● Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and provide technical mentorship to developers
● Work with containerised and cloud-native environments using Docker and Kubernetes
● Participate actively in day-to-day hands-on development while supporting long-term technical direction
● Contribute to improving development processes, scalability, and engineering standards across the platform.
REQUIREMENTS:
● Strong written and spoken English communication skills
● 5–8+ years of software engineering experience
● Strong system design and software architecture experience
● Solid backend development experience with PHP/Laravel or similar frameworks
● Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, ideally Vue.js
● Experience working with distributed systems and queue/event-driven architectures
● Hands-on experience with Kafka and queue systems
● Strong knowledge of MySQL and NoSQL databases
● Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is highly preferred
● Strong ownership mindset and problem-solving abilities
● Passion for technology with proactive self-learning mentality
● Ability to work collaboratively within fast-paced technical environments.
