Position: CRC Automatic Welding Machine Technician
Department: Welding / Pipeline Construction
Reports To: Welding Supervisor / Welding Equipment Supervisor
Job Summary:
The CRC Automatic Welding Machine Technician is responsible for installation, setup, troubleshooting, maintenance, and technical support of CRC automatic welding machines used for pipeline welding activities. The technician ensures welding equipment operates efficiently with minimum downtime and supports the welding team during project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Equipment Installation & Setup
Install and prepare CRC automatic welding machines at the work location.
Perform machine setup, calibration, and operational checks before welding activities.
Ensure welding equipment, control systems, and accessories are properly connected.
Assist operators in machine adjustments and settings.
2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of CRC welding equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
Identify machine faults and carry out necessary repairs.
Replace damaged parts, cables, motors, sensors, and machine components when required.
Maintain equipment performance and reduce welding downtime.
3. Welding Support
Support CRC welding operators during pipeline welding operations.
Ensure machine parameters and settings are maintained properly.
Monitor equipment performance during welding activities.
Assist with alignment, adjustments, and machine movement.
Provide technical solutions during welding operations.
4. Inspection & Quality Support
Check machine accuracy and welding equipment condition.
Ensure equipment is working according to approved procedures.
Maintain maintenance records and equipment history reports.
Coordinate with welding supervisors and QC teams when required.
5. Safety Responsibilities
Follow site safety procedures and equipment handling requirements.
Ensure safe operation and maintenance practices.
Use proper PPE during maintenance and welding support activities.
Maintain clean and safe working conditions.
6. Reporting & Coordination
Report equipment issues, breakdowns, and repair requirements.
Maintain daily equipment status reports.
Coordinate with supervisors regarding spare parts and maintenance needs.
Support smooth pipeline welding production.
Requirements:
Diploma / Technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Welding field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in CRC automatic welding machine maintenance and operation support.
Experience with pipeline welding equipment.
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to troubleshoot welding machine problems.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with CRC-Evans automatic welding systems.
Pipeline construction experience in Oil & Gas projects.
Experience with major EPC projects / ARAMCO projects preferred.
