Job Summary
Supervise workshop fabrication and site installation of stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium products. Ensure work meets approved drawings, quality standards, safety requirements, and project deadlines while controlling labour and material usage.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan daily production activities and allocate work to fabricators, welders, helpers, and installation teams.
- Review approved shop drawings, specifications, cutting lists, and project requirements before starting fabrication.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to resolve drawing discrepancies and fabrication queries.
- Supervise cutting, bending, drilling, welding, assembly, grinding, polishing, and finishing.
- Oversee fabrication of handrails, ladders, stairs, platforms, gates, frames, and architectural metalwork.
- Check dimensions, alignment, weld quality, tolerances, and surface finish throughout production.
- Coordinate inspections with the quality team and close out defects before delivery.
- Arrange materials, tools, machinery, and consumables to maintain production schedules.
- Monitor labour productivity, material consumption, scrap, and rework.
- Coordinate outsourced powder coating, painting, galvanizing, and other finishing activities.
- Arrange packing, loading, delivery, and site installation with project teams.
- Enforce PPE, machine safety, lifting precautions, and hot-work procedures.
- Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance requirements.
- Maintain daily production reports, manpower records, material requests, and progress updates.
- Train workers and maintain discipline, teamwork, and good housekeeping.
### Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma, ITI, or technical qualification in mechanical engineering, fabrication, welding, or a related trade preferred.
- Minimum **5 years of metal fabrication experience**, including **2 years in a supervisory role**.
- Experience supervising stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium fabrication.
- Strong ability to interpret shop drawings, fabrication details, and cutting lists.
- Working knowledge of MIG, TIG, and arc welding, including suitable applications and common defects.
- Experience with architectural metalwork, finishing, and site installation.
- KSA experience preferred.
- KSA driving license is an advantage.
