Key Responsibilities
Design sheet metal enclosures, cabinets, control panels, racks, and fabricated assemblies using 3D CAD software.
Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, fabrication drawings, and flat patterns.
Develop manufacturing documentation including BOMs, cut lists, and assembly instructions.
Ensure designs are optimized for sheet metal fabrication processes such as laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, and powder coating.
Apply GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
Coordinate with engineering, production, and procurement teams to ensure manufacturability.
Review customer specifications and convert concepts into production-ready designs.
Support prototype development, testing, and design improvements.
Maintain revision control and engineering documentation.
Required Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
3–5 years of experience in sheet metal design, preferably for enclosures and cabinets.
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software such as:
SolidWorks
Autodesk Inventor
Solid Edge
Autodesk AutoCAD
Experience creating sheet metal parts, assemblies, and flat pattern developments.
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and material selection.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Familiarity with electrical enclosure standards is an advantage.
