Key Responsibilities & Duties
Transaction Management: Operate electronic cash registers, barcode scanners, and card terminals to process cash, credit/debit cards, and digital wallet payments accurately.
Customer Service: Greet customers warmly upon arrival and departure. Assist with basic inquiries regarding item pricing, store promotions, and return policies.
Cash Reconciliation: Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of every shift, ensuring all currency, receipts, and vouchers match the POS system records with minimal variance.
Bagging & Packaging: Safely bag, box, or wrap purchased goods for customers, paying attention to fragile items or specific customer packaging preferences.
Checkout Upkeep: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized checkout lane. Restock bags and ensure promotional flyers or loyalty program brochures are neatly displayed.
Policy Compliance: Adhere strictly to store security protocols, cash handling procedures, and local regulations regarding age-restricted items or corporate tax invoices.
