Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed AutoCAD drawings for high current electrical systems, including:
Power Distribution Systems
Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) Networks
Main Distribution Boards (MDB)
Sub Main Distribution Boards (SMDB)
Final Distribution Boards (FDB)
Motor Control Centers (MCC)
Transformer Installations
Generator Systems
Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) Panels
Capacitor Banks
Earthing & Lightning Protection Systems
Cable Tray and Cable Routing Layouts
Power and Lighting Layouts
Prepare single-line diagrams (SLDs), riser diagrams, wiring diagrams, and panel schedules.
Produce shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings.
Coordinate electrical drawings with MEP, architectural, civil, and structural disciplines.
Revise drawings based on consultant comments and site modifications.
Prepare cable schedules, load schedules, voltage drop calculations (under engineer supervision), and material take-offs.
Maintain document control and ensure all revisions are properly recorded.
Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, local authority regulations, IEC, NEC/NFPA, and other applicable standards.
Assist project engineers during installation, testing, commissioning, and project close-out documentation.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
2–5 years of experience in electrical drafting for high current/power distribution systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and AutoCAD 2D.
Knowledge of electrical drafting standards, symbols, and construction documentation.
Familiarity with IEC, NEC, BS, or local electrical codes.
Experience with Revit MEP or BIM software is an added advantage.
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of high current electrical systems and power distribution.
Ability to prepare accurate SLDs, panel layouts, cable routing, and electrical layouts.
Understanding of electrical equipment such as transformers, generators, switchgear, MCCs, and distribution panels.
Excellent AutoCAD drafting skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret electrical design drawings and specifications.
Good communication, coordination, and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
