NTPC Invites Bids Under Power EPC Tenders India For Telangana Stage-II GIS Switchyard

NTPC Limited has released a domestic competitive EPC tender for the switchyard package of the Telangana Super Thermal Power Project Stage-II (3x800 MW), creating a significant opportunity within Power EPC tenders India. The project follows a single-stage, two-envelope bidding process through GePNIC with an EMD requirement of Rs 5 crore. EnergylineIndia.com reports verified procurement updates for industrial decision-makers.
Scope includes complete engineering, design, procurement, manufacturing, inspection, logistics, construction, testing and commissioning of a 400 kV SF6 Gas Insulated Substation with a one-and-a-half breaker configuration. The contractor will also execute GIS building works, control room, civil infrastructure, transformer foundations, earthing, AC systems, lighting, lightning protection, complete cabling and commissioning support.
The package integrates expansion of the existing Stage-I switchyard with the new Stage-II infrastructure, making interface management and shutdown coordination critical project elements. Bid participation is restricted to eligible Class-I local suppliers, while previous operational experience in 400 kV GIS execution is mandatory.
This opportunity reinforces the direction of Power EPC tenders India, where utilities increasingly award comprehensive turnkey contracts to experienced EPC companies. Latest EPC power projects continue to favour integrated execution models that reduce coordination risks and improve commissioning performance. Financial capability and proven GIS delivery experience are expected to remain decisive evaluation factors during bid assessment.
