Job Title: Tendering Cost Estimator – Civil Engineer
Department: Tendering / Estimation
Reports To: Tendering Manager / Business Development Manager
Job Purpose
To prepare accurate cost estimates, tender submissions, and commercial proposals for civil engineering and construction projects by analyzing project requirements, specifications, drawings, and market pricing.
Key Responsibilities

Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Analyze project requirements and identify cost-effective solutions.
Prepare tender pricing, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and commercial submissions.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams during tender preparation.
Conduct risk assessments and identify potential cost impacts.
Maintain a database of material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor rates.
Assist in contract review and post-award cost analysis.
Ensure all tender submissions are completed within deadlines.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction estimation and tendering.
Knowledge of BOQ preparation and quantity surveying.
Familiarity with construction methods and materials.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimation software.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
