Job Description:
- Assist the Preservation Officer in preservation and maintenance of electrical parts of ship and rig
equipment.
- Carry out visual inspections of electrical equipment, panels, motors, heaters, and cables.
- Ensure correct installation and functioning of space heaters, voltage supply, earthing, and safety
arrangements.
- Monitor and record temperature, voltage, and current (ampere) readings of preserved equipment.
- Perform basic electrical testing, Megger test, continuity checks, and insulation verification as required.
- Support preservation documentation, tagging, and status updates (manual or system-based).
- Assist during QC inspections, audits, and preservation checks.
- Coordinate with warehouse, MRO, and project teams for safe handling and movement of electrical
equipment.
- Maintain housekeeping, safety compliance, and tool control within work areas.

Skills & Qualification:
- Diploma / ITI in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Trade.
- Basic knowledge of industrial, shipyard, or rig electrical systems.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Basic computer skills (data entry, Excel, email preferred).
- Understanding of electrical safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Physically fit for yard, warehouse, and equipment inspection activities.

Experience:
- 2 - 4 years’ experience as an Electrical Technician preferred.
- Exposure to shipyard, offshore, rig, heavy equipment, or industrial preservation is an advantage.
