Job Title: Cost Control Engineer (EPC Projects)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cost Control Engineer to join our EPC project controls team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting project costs throughout the engineering, procurement, and construction phases. The role requires close coordination with project management, engineering, procurement, construction, contracts, and finance teams to ensure effective cost management and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain project cost control procedures and reporting systems.
* Prepare and monitor project budgets, cost breakdown structures (CBS), and cost codes.
* Track engineering, procurement, construction, subcontract, and indirect costs against the approved budget.
* Monitor commitments, actual expenditures, accruals, and forecasts.
* Prepare weekly and monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and management dashboards.
* Perform cost variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
* Prepare Estimate at Completion (EAC), Estimate to Complete (ETC), and cost trend analyses.
* Support change management by evaluating variation orders and assessing their cost impact.
* Coordinate with planning engineers to integrate cost and schedule performance using Earned Value Management (EVM).
* Review purchase requisitions, purchase orders, subcontract agreements, invoices, and payment certificates from a cost control perspective.
* Monitor contingency usage and identify potential cost risks and opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and project controls standards.
* Support project close-out activities, including final cost reporting and lessons learned.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
* 4 to 7 years of experience in cost control within EPC, oil & gas.
* Strong understanding of EPC project execution and project controls.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost reporting tools.
* Experience with Primavera P6 or similar ERP/project controls systems is preferred.
* Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM), forecasting, and project cost analysis.
* Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary project environment.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience on large-scale EPC projects.
* Professional certification such as PMP or equivalent is an advantage.
* Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and change management processes.
* Collaborative and multicultural work environment.
