Job Purpose
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of all mechanical equipment within the waste treatment facility. The role supports preventive and corrective maintenance activities, equipment reliability, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, supervise, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Troubleshoot mechanical failures and identify root causes.
Ensure maximum availability and reliability of plant equipment.
Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements.
Prepare maintenance schedules and shutdown plans.
Coordinate with operations to minimize equipment downtime.
Supervise mechanical technicians and contractors.
Review maintenance reports and maintain equipment history records.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures during maintenance activities.
Manage spare parts requirements and inventory.
Participate in equipment inspections and condition monitoring.
Review mechanical drawings, manuals, and technical documentation.
Assist in commissioning and testing of new equipment.
Support procurement by preparing technical specifications.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement projects.
Ensure compliance with quality standards and maintenance best practices.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in Science with relevant mechanical engineering experience.
Professional certifications in maintenance or reliability are an advantage.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in GCC countries.
Experience in industrial plants, waste management facilities, power plants, manufacturing plants, or process industries.
Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance.
Experience supervising maintenance teams.
