Fabrication (steel structure) supervisor responsibilities and qualifications include ; 1. Be stationed at the steel structure fabrication plant to comprehensively manage component production, quality, schedule and on-site safety.
2. Be familiar with AISC, AWS codes and IBSF supervision requirements, conduct drawing review and technical disclosure, and supervise the full fabrication procedures including cutting, welding and painting.
3. Manage welders’ qualifications, WPS procedures, non-destructive testing and anti-corrosion acceptance, and follow up to close out rectification of quality defects.
4. Liaise with IBSF supervisors, independently prepare English inspection submission documents, and coordinate all witness inspections by the third party.
5. Collect daily production data, establish ledgers for materials, inspections and deliveries, and submit reports to the project department in a timely manner. Mandatory Requirements
1. Able to work on-site at the fabrication plant for long-term assignment. 2. College diploma or above in steel structure, welding, mechanical engineering or related majors, eligible for Saudi academic verification.
3. Practical experience in on-site management or third-party supervision at steel structure fabrication plants.
4. Proficient in oral English to communicate independently with supervisors and factory staff.
5. Professional knowledge of welding procedures, NDT and finished component acceptance; possession of relevant steel structure or welding certificates is preferred.
