Khavda Review Focuses On Renewable Energy India

A committee review has examined the 13 May disturbance at Gujarat's Khavda Renewable Energy Park, where around 8,963 MW of renewable generation tripped after 17 transmission lines were disconnected. The incident reduced national grid frequency to 49.39 Hz and prompted a review of compliance with Fast Frequency Response requirements.
The assessment found that most wind projects reviewed had not provided the required Fast Frequency Response data, while a battery energy storage system remained online below the prescribed frequency threshold. The findings are expected to strengthen future grid compliance measures.
