The Landscape Architect is responsible for planning, designing, and delivering innovative, sustainable, and context-sensitive landscape architecture projects that enhance the built environment while preserving local identity.

The role supports Afniah's strategic direction by integrating ecological, environmental, aesthetic, and engineering principles into landscape solutions that contribute to operational excellence, client satisfaction, and sustainable development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / MAJOR TASKS:

Landscape Planning & Design
Prepare conceptual, schematic, detailed, and construction-stage landscape designs for various project types.
Develop landscape master plans, public realm designs, parks, streetscapes, plazas, and open space developments.
Produce planting concepts, hardscape layouts, grading plans, irrigation concepts, and landscape details.
Integrate environmental sustainability, local culture, and climatic considerations into landscape designs.
Ensure design solutions meet client objectives, project requirements, and Afniah design standards.
Technical Documentation
Prepare detailed construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical reports.
Develop planting plans, irrigation layouts, paving details, grading plans, and landscape construction details.
Coordinate BIM and CAD documentation throughout all project stages.
Review contractor shop drawings and technical submissions for compliance with design intent.
Maintain accurate project documentation and revision control.
Project Coordination
Coordinate with architects, urban planners, civil engineers, structural engineers, MEP engineers, and environmental specialists.
Participate in multidisciplinary design coordination meetings.
Resolve technical design issues in collaboration with project teams.
Support project managers in achieving project milestones and delivery schedules.
Respond promptly to client comments and design review feedback.
Sustainability & Environmental Integration
Promote sustainable landscape design practices and climate-responsive solutions.
Select appropriate native and adaptive plant species suitable for project locations.
Integrate water-efficient irrigation systems and sustainable drainage strategies.
Support biodiversity, ecological conservation, and environmental enhancement initiatives.
Contribute to achieving sustainability objectives and green infrastructure goals.
Construction Support & Quality Assurance
Conduct site inspections to verify landscape construction complies with approved drawings and specifications.
Review material samples, mock-ups, and contractor submissions.
Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and site technical queries.
Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), municipal regulations, and Afniah Quality Management System.
Support project handover, snagging, and final inspections.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from a recognized institution.

Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Environmental Design, or a related discipline is advantageous.

Professional membership with recognized landscape architecture organizations is desirable.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum five (7-10) years of professional experience in landscape architecture within an architectural or engineering consultancy.

Experience in mixed-use developments, hospitality, tourism, public realm, parks, infrastructure, and urban development projects is preferred.
