An elevator technician installs, maintains, and repairs elevators, escalators, and moving walkways. Key duties include troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults, conducting safety tests, and replacing worn parts.
Key Responsibilities
• Installation: Set up new elevator cars, cables, counterweights, and control panels based on blueprints.
• Maintenance: Perform routine checkups, oil moving parts, and verify adherence to safety codes.
• Repair: Diagnose system failures, dismantle broken units, and replace faulty switches, gears, or motors.
Job Requirements
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Training: Completion of a multi-year apprenticeship program.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and basic electrical wiring.
• Physical: Ability to work in confined spaces, lift heavy objects, and handle heights
• 8 hours’ duty.
• Weekly day off.
• Salary depending on experience.
