A mechanical technician installs, maintains, and repairs machinery and industrial equipment. Core duties include preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and system repairs.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintenance & Inspection: Run routine checks, spot wear and tear, and perform scheduled preventative upkeep on tools, pumps, and motors.
• Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose mechanical failures, take apart broken components, and replace faulty parts like seals or bearings.
• Installation & Setup: Assemble new machines, align parts properly, and test equipment using technical manuals and blueprints.
• Documentation: Log service updates, track machine safety metrics, and record repair data into maintenance management software.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Education: High school diploma plus an associate degree or technical trade certification in mechanical technology.
• Experience: Minimum of two years of hands-on work in a plant, factory, or industrial setting.
• Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, use power tools, and understand hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
• Physical & Work Style: Good physical stamina for heavy lifting, plus strong problem-solving and safety compliance.
• 8 hours’ duty.
• Weekly day off.
