Water Treatment Plant Operation & Maintenance
FASTEP Arabia is seeking qualified and experienced Field Operators for Water Treatment Plant Operation & Maintenance projects.
Job Purpose
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Degasification and Water Treatment Plant, including chemical handling activities. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental policies, and standard operating procedures to maintain reliable plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor field equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous plant operation.
Perform routine inspections, operational checks, adjustments, and equipment monitoring.
Apply equipment isolations and act as a designated person in accordance with plant safety rules.
Record operating parameters, report abnormalities, and support the Control Room Operator, Shift Supervisor, Chemist, and Operations Manager.
Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies, safety procedures, and environmental regulations.
Conduct effective shift handovers and assist during emergency situations while supporting cross-training activities.
Handle the unloading of chemicals into storage tanks and optimize chemical dosing as directed by the Shift Supervisor or Chemist.
Operate and monitor sludge handling systems and ensure cartridge filter elements are maintained in good condition.
Monitor the condition of analytical instruments, automatic and manual valves, rotating equipment, and chemical dosing pumps, reporting any abnormalities promptly.
Follow work permit procedures and verify that all safety precautions are in place before handing over equipment for maintenance.
Ensure emergency and standby equipment is regularly tested, inspected, and maintained.
Manage plant operations during the absence of other operators when required.
Record daily utility consumption and maintain accurate operational logs.
Perform chemical loading, unloading, preparation, and safe handling in accordance with plant procedures.
Monitor the condition of rotating equipment and plant assets, promptly escalating maintenance issues to the Shift Supervisor and Maintenance Team.
Requirements
Diploma/ITI or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Process Engineering.
Proven experience in the operation of Water Treatment Plants, Desalination Plants, or similar industrial process facilities.
Knowledge of water treatment processes, chemical handling, pumps, valves, filtration systems, and rotating equipment.
Familiarity with permit-to-work systems, plant safety rules, and HSE requirements.
Ability to read and record operating parameters and respond effectively to plant abnormalities.
Good communication skills and the ability to work independently on rotating shifts.
GCC/Saudi Arabia experience is preferred.
