Key Responsibilities
Virtualized Infrastructure Management: Administer and maintain a large-scale virtualized environment consisting of Windows Server, RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux), and Oracle Linux running on a robust virtualization platform.
Virtualization Platform Administration: Manage, monitor, and optimize the virtualization layer (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM), including resource allocation, VM provisioning, and performance tuning.
Infrastructure Performance Tuning: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies at the OS and virtualization levels to ensure optimal resource utilization.
Automation & Orchestration: Develop and maintain scripts and tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) to automate routine administrative tasks, VM deployments, and configuration management.
Incident Management & Troubleshooting: Act as the escalation point for complex system and virtualization issues, providing root cause analysis and implementing permanent solutions to prevent recurrence.
Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain system hardening, patch management, and security best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards across all OS platforms and the virtualization infrastructure.
Infrastructure Strategy: Assist in the planning and execution of infrastructure upgrades, migrations, capacity planning, and disaster recovery initiatives for the virtualized environment.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience as a System Engineer or similar senior-level infrastructure role.
Operating Systems: Expert-level proficiency in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (specifically RHEL and Oracle Linux).
Virtualization: Proven, extensive experience managing and administering enterprise-grade virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or KVM (including cluster management, resource pools, and high availability).
Scripting: Strong scripting skills for automation and orchestration (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
Patch Management: Experience with enterprise patching tools and strategies for both Windows and Linux environments.
Problem Solving: Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues across hybrid OS environments.
