Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage daily accounting activities and support accurate, timely financial reporting across our service, contracting, and related business operations. The role is responsible for maintaining financial records, supporting project and supplier payments, monitoring receivables, completing reconciliations, and assisting with monthly and year-end close processes.
The successful candidate will have practical accounting experience in a contracting, construction, rental, facilities-management, or similar project-based environment, together with strong knowledge of KSA VAT processes and accounting controls.
Key Responsibilities
• Record and review daily accounting transactions, journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and supporting documentation in accordance with the approved accounting procedures.
• Maintain a complete and accurate accounting cycle, including general-ledger posting and account reconciliation.
• Manage accounts payable activities, including supplier invoice verification, payment documentation, payment processing support, and supplier statement reconciliations.
• Monitor accounts receivable, issue or support customer invoices where required, follow up on collections, and reconcile customer balances.
• Prepare timely bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding or unreconciled items.
• Monitor project progress payments, supplier payments, subcontractor or contractor payments, and related supporting documents.
• Support the preparation of monthly financial reports, schedules, management reports, and financial statements for review by the Finance Manager.
• Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations, supporting schedules, and audit-ready documentation.
• Support KSA VAT compliance activities, including maintaining VAT-related records and assisting with return preparation and reconciliation, under the direction of the Finance Manager or authorised tax adviser.
• Assist with budgets, periodic financial reports, and variance analysis when requested.
• Maintain organised, complete, and confidential financial records, in both electronic and physical formats where applicable.
• Use approved accounting systems and Microsoft Excel to analyse data, prepare schedules, and improve the accuracy and timeliness of finance processes.
• Perform other reasonable finance and accounts duties assigned by the line manager.
Required Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 3–5 years of hands-on accounting experience in a contracting, construction, rental, facilities-management, or other project-based business environment.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, bank reconciliation, payroll support, VAT, financial reporting, and month-end closing.
• Practical experience with accounting software; experience using iCoreERP, SAP Business One/SAP Books, and/or Tally ERP is strongly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, organisation, and ability to manage multiple deadlines independently.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
• Experience supporting finance operations in Saudi Arabia, particularly within a multi-site service, contracting, or maintenance business.
• Working knowledge of project costing, progress billing, retention, and contractor or subcontractor payment controls.
• Familiarity with KSA VAT practices and finance documentation requirements.
• Hindi or Urdu communication skills are an advantage for operational coordination; they are not required for the role.
• Professional accounting qualification, part-qualification, or relevant certification is an advantage.
