Purpose of the job
The AutoCAD Draftsman & Cutting List Coordinator is responsible for preparing and reviewing technical drawings, generating accurate cutting lists, and calculating material quantities for production. The role supports the fabrication team by ensuring all drawings and production details are accurate, optimized, and aligned with project requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
.Technical Drawings
Prepare, revise, and review AutoCAD shop drawings based on project requirements and approved designs.
Verify dimensions, details, and fabrication requirements before production release.
Coordinate with production, sales, and site teams regarding drawing updates and technical clarifications.
Cutting Lists & Quantity Calculation
Prepare accurate cutting lists for porcelain, quartz, and related materials.
Calculate material quantities, slab usage, and wastage ratios for production planning.
Optimize slab layouts to achieve maximum material utilization and reduce waste.
Ensure all cutting lists match approved drawings and project specifications.
Production Coordination
Coordinate with factory and CNC operators regarding fabrication details and priorities.
Support production planning by issuing organized fabrication documents and cutting schedules.
Update drawings and cutting details based on site measurements or project changes.
Quality & Documentation
Ensure all issued drawings and cutting lists are accurate and error-free.
Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and production files.
Support continuous improvement in drafting and production processes.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or degree in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in AutoCAD drafting and quantity calculation.
Experience in stone, porcelain, marble, or fabrication industries is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in AutoCAD and technical drawing preparation.
Strong understanding of fabrication and production processes.
Good quantity calculation and material optimization skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to coordinate with multiple departments.
Good organizational and communication skills.
