HSE / Safety Officer – SASREF

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced HSE / Safety Officer to support the SASREF mechanical work activities. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring site HSE compliance, ensuring safe execution of mechanical activities, and supporting the Permit to Work and risk-control processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor HSE compliance during mechanical installation, erection and maintenance activities.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and conditions.
• Ensure compliance with approved HSE procedures, PTW requirements and site safety rules.
• Review JSA/JHA, risk assessments and method statements before work starts.
• Monitor implementation of control measures for mechanical and rotating equipment activities.
• Ensure appropriate PPE and safety controls are in place.
• Conduct Toolbox Talks and safety briefings.
• Monitor high-risk activities including lifting, mechanical installation, working at height, hot work and confined-space activities, where applicable.
• Support LOTO/isolation compliance where applicable to the work scope.
• Report unsafe conditions, near misses, incidents and HSE observations.
• Assist with incident/near-miss investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain daily HSE inspection reports and relevant site documentation.
• Coordinate with the Mechanical Supervisor, Permit Receiver, client representatives and project management on HSE matters.
• Stop or escalate unsafe work when required.
• Support emergency response and ensure site emergency arrangements are followed.
