Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Supermarket Cashier & Store Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate should have previous supermarket experience, be comfortable handling customers and cash, and have good knowledge of Thai and Asian food products.
The candidate should also be able to assist with supplier coordination, ordering, stock management, and inventory counting.
Key Responsibilities
Operate the cash register and POS system accurately.
Handle cash, card, and other payment methods.
Provide friendly and professional customer service.
Assist customers in finding products and answering questions about our products.
Have good knowledge of Thai, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Indonesian, and other Asian products.
Understand product names and basic product information in Thai and/or other Asian languages.
Communicate with suppliers regarding product availability, prices, and orders.
Assist with preparing and placing supplier orders.
Receive deliveries and check quantities, products, and expiry dates.
Organize and replenish shelves and ensure products are properly displayed.
Conduct regular inventory and stock counts.
Identify missing, damaged, expired, or low-stock products.
Monitor product expiry dates and follow proper stock rotation procedures.
Assist with maintaining accurate inventory records.
Keep the cashier area, shelves, and store clean and organized.
Assist with opening and closing store duties.
Follow company procedures regarding cash handling, stock control, and customer service.
Support other supermarket operations as required.
Requirements
Previous supermarket or retail experience is required.
Previous experience as a cashier is preferred.
Knowledge of Thai and Asian grocery products is highly preferred.
Ability to communicate with Asian suppliers is an advantage.
Thai language knowledge is a strong advantage.
Good communication and customer-service skills.
Basic computer/POS skills.
Able to accurately count cash and inventory.
Good attention to detail.
Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
Able to work a 12-hour duty and flexible shifts.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Physically capable of standing for long periods and assisting with stock handling.
Preferred Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who already understands how an Asian supermarket operates, knows the products and suppliers, can identify what needs to be reordered, and can confidently assist customers while managing cashier and stock responsibilities.
Previous experience working in an Asian/Thai supermarket will be considered a major advantage.
