Job Purpose
To maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize industrial
refrigeration systems to ensure reliable cooling performance,
equipment availability, food safety, and required storage
temperatures. The Refrigeration Technician performs preventive

Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrialrefrigeration systems and associated equipment.
Troubleshoot refrigeration system faults involving compressors,condensers, evaporators, pumps, motors, fans, valves, sensors,and controls.
Inspect and repair refrigeration piping, valves, seals, gaskets,and mechanical components.
Diagnose abnormal pressure, temperature, vibration, noise, oillevel, refrigerant flow, and equipment performance.
Carry out routine servicing of compressors, motors, pumps,evaporators, condensers, and cooling towers.
Identify and rectify refrigerant, oil, water, and air leaks.
Perform refrigerant charging, recovery, evacuation, and systemtesting in accordance with approved procedures and applicableregulations.
Check and maintain refrigeration electrical panels, controls,sensors, thermostats, solenoid valves, pressure switches, andprotection devices within authorized competency levels.
Respond promptly to refrigeration breakdowns and emergencycalls to minimize operational downtime.
Conduct root-cause troubleshooting for recurring equipmentfailures.
Ensure cold rooms, freezers, chillers, and temperature-controlled areas operate within required temperature ranges.
Complete maintenance work orders, inspection records,equipment history, and spare-part usage records.
Support planning and execution of preventive maintenanceschedules.
Assist with installation, commissioning, modification, andtesting of refrigeration equipment.
Coordinate with operations teams during planned shutdownsand maintenance activities.
Ensure adequate availability of critical refrigeration spare partsand notify supervisors of replenishment requirements.
Guide Refrigeration Operators on proper equipment operationand basic system checks.
Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Permit to Work, confined-space, refrigerant-handling, and other applicable safetyprocedures.
Comply with company health, safety, environmental, foodsafety, and quality standards.
Participate in energy-efficiency and refrigeration systemimprovement initiatives.
Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Diploma or technical certificate in Refrigeration and AirConditioning, Mechanical Engineering, ElectromechanicalEngineering, or a related technical discipline.
Good knowledge of industrial refrigeration principles andequipment.
Knowledge of refrigeration compressors, condensers,evaporators, pumps, valves, cooling towers, and pipingsystems.
Knowledge of electrical and control components associatedwith refrigeration systems.
Ability to read refrigeration diagrams, mechanical drawings,electrical diagrams, and equipment manuals.
Knowledge of safe refrigerant handling practices.
Familiarity with computerized maintenance managementsystems (CMMS) is an advantage.
Experience
3–5 years of relevant experience in industrial refrigerationmaintenance.
Experience within cold storage, food distribution, foodprocessing, manufacturing, or similar facilities is preferred.
