RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures on construction sites to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety measures into project plans.
Provide safety training programs for construction site personnel, emphasizing best practices and emergency procedures.
Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near-misses, recommending corrective actions.
Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment on-site.
Keep abreast of industry safety trends and regulations, updating safety protocols accordingly.
Act as a liaison with regulatory authorities and participate in safety audits.
REQUIREMENTS
Degree or certification in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry.
In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and industry best practices.
NEBOSH and OSHA certification.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to conduct effective safety training sessions.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and address safety concerns.
Familiarity with construction processes, equipment, and materials.
First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
