Position Overview

The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and controlling manufacturing processes to ensure consistent product quality, high efficiency, and cost-effective production. The role focuses on improving process capability, reducing variability, and supporting production through technical expertise Coordinate with Equipment OEMS and Global engineering team. Working closely with production, quality, maintenance, and R&D teams, the Process Engineer identifies process improvements, resolves technical issues, and supports new product introductions and qualification requirements. The position also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, data analysis, and standardization of best practices, while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in Automotive OEMs, Tier 1/Tier 2/Tier 3 suppliers, or other high-volume continuous manufacturing environments. (Fabrication industry not preferred)

Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
- Define and maintain process parameters, SOPs, process flow, and standard work.
- Provide day-to-day technical support and resolve process issues using structured problem solving.
- Lead process planning, equipment planning, installation, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and production ramp-up.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing, OEE improvement, waste reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support preventive/predictive maintenance and improve equipment reliability.
- Develop SOPs, Work Instructions, PFMEA, Control Plans, and engineering documentation.
- Support CAPA, audits, and EHS/Quality compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable improvements.

Standardization & Best Practices
- Standardize operating procedures and ensure adherence across all production lines.
- Support implementation of global engineering standards and best practices.
- Drive consistency and repeatability across manufacturing processes.
- Develop and update process documentation (SOPs, work instructions, process sheets).
- Ensure proper documentation for audits and certifications.
- Maintain process control plans and technical records.

Equipment Performance & Reliability
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives on production equipment to optimize performance.
- Monitor equipment performance trends and identify recurring failures.
- Collaborate with maintenance to eliminate root causes of equipment inefficiencies.

Maintenance Strategy Support
- Develop and support implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Ensure maintenance KPIs (breakdowns, MTTR, MTBF) are tracked, analyzed, and improved.
- Support reliability improvement initiatives and equipment upgrades.

Quality Improvement
- Ensure processes consistently meet product specifications and standards.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) for defects, customer complaints, and non-conformities.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate with QA/QC to reduce scrap and rework.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Ensure processes comply with HSE standards and safe operating practices.
- Identify and mitigate process-related risks.
- Support safety initiatives and incident investigations.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Experience
- 4-7 years of manufacturing experience.
- Minimum two installation and commissioning project experience.
- Greenfield and/or Brownfield project experience is added advantage.
- Strong experience in process planning and equipment planning.

Main Skills
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, Controls systems and industrial automation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills using 8D, A3, PDCA, 5 Why, and RCA.
- Lean Manufacturing experience; Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of manufacturing KPIs, process capability, quality systems, and documentation.
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~10%).
