I am looking for an experienced female Learning Support Assistant / Shadow Teacher to support my
10-year-old son, who is blind and currently attending school.
The selected person will accompany him to school daily and provide assistance throughout the school day. He is very active and independent in many ways, but requires support with mobility, classroom activities, studies, and certain daily school routines.
Requirements & Responsibilities:
1. Accompany him to and from school and remain with him during school hours.
2. Assist him with classroom activities, studies, assignments, and other academic needs.
3. Support him with safe mobility and daily activities within the school.
4. Have previous experience working with blind or visually impaired children.
5. Knowledge or experience in Special Education is highly preferred.
6. Familiarity with NVDA (NonVisual Desktop Access) and other accessibility or assistive learning software is strongly preferred.
7. Be patient, responsible, caring, and comfortable supporting an active 10-year-old child.
Working Hours: 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
