We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented, and results-driven Civil & Estimation Engineer to join our team and take responsibility for civil project estimation, tendering, planning, cost control, and technical coordination.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in civil construction projects, quantity estimation, BOQ preparation, costing, tendering, and project coordination, with the ability to analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements and prepare accurate and competitive estimates.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects based on drawings, BOQs, specifications, and site requirements.
* Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, scope of work, and contract requirements.
* Prepare and review BOQs, quantity take-offs, material requirements, and cost breakdowns.
* Conduct quantity surveying and ensure accurate measurement of civil works.
* Prepare competitive quotations and commercial proposals for projects and tenders.
* Obtain and analyze quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
* Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, clients, and project teams regarding technical and commercial requirements.
* Conduct site visits to assess project conditions, quantities, and scope of work.
* Identify discrepancies, variations, omissions, and potential risks in tender documents and drawings.
* Prepare detailed rate analysis for civil works, including materials, manpower, equipment, overheads, and other project costs.
* Assist in preparing project budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and cost-control plans.
* Monitor project costs against approved budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Prepare variation orders, additional work quotations, and supporting documentation.
* Assist in contract administration, claims, and commercial matters when required.
* Coordinate with the project team to ensure estimated quantities and costs are aligned with actual site requirements.
* Review subcontractor and supplier quotations and negotiate competitive rates.
* Maintain an updated database of material, manpower, equipment, and subcontractor rates.
* Prepare estimation reports, tender comparison sheets, and commercial analysis for management review.
* Support project planning and scheduling activities where required.
* Ensure all estimates and proposals are prepared accurately and submitted within deadlines.
* Maintain proper records of drawings, BOQs, quotations, estimates, and tender documents.
* Identify potential project risks and provide recommendations to management.
* Ensure compliance with project specifications, contractual requirements, company policies, and applicable standards.
* Support the business development team in identifying and evaluating new civil project opportunities.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
* Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Civil Engineer, Estimation Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, or similar position.
* Strong experience in civil construction projects and project estimation.
* Experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC is highly preferred.
* Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, specifications, and project requirements.
* Proven experience in preparing BOQs, quantity take-offs, rate analysis, cost estimates, and tender submissions.
* Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, architectural, and MEP drawings.
* Good understanding of construction contracts, specifications, and commercial requirements.
* Strong knowledge of construction materials, manpower requirements, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
* Excellent analytical, mathematical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and coordination skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Knowledge of AutoCAD is required/preferred.
* Experience with estimation, quantity surveying, or project management software is an advantage.
* Valid Saudi driving license is preferred.
