🔧 REQUIREMENTS / SCOPE OF WORK:
Minimum 8 years of experience as an Electrical Technician in plant maintenance and testing of electrical equipment.
Experience in HV & MV electrical equipment maintenance, installation, testing, overhauling and modification.
Strong hands-on experience with:
380 KV GIS Substations
GCBs (Gas Circuit Breakers)
MV Switchgear
Large Power Transformers
Power Transformers
Dry Transformers
Instrument Transformers
Power Cables
DC Systems
Batteries
Other HV/MV electrical plant equipment
Independently perform routine preventive maintenance according to scheduled maintenance plans and JIGPC procedures to support continuous plant operations.
Experience using electrical power testing equipment including:
CBC100
Torkel 930 Battery Tester
HV Tester
Megger
DLR
Circuit Breaker (CB) Analyzer
BDV Oil Tester
Other relevant electrical testing equipment
Monitor the physical condition of electrical systems and equipment and identify and report non-conformances to the concerned POD Foreman.
Respond to electrical failures and perform corrective actions in accordance with approved procedures to reduce downtime and maintain equipment reliability.
Strong troubleshooting skills, including diagnosis, dismantling, repair, component replacement, inspection, cleaning, checking and reassembly of electrical equipment.
Diagnose malfunctions and failures in GIS substations, GCBs, MV switchgear, power transformers, power cables, instrument transformers, batteries and related electrical systems.
Coordinate with Instrumentation & Control Supervisors where required to identify and resolve equipment problems.
Ability to read and understand technical manuals, electrical control diagrams, system diagrams and electrical drawings.
Good knowledge of electrical power circuits, electrical drawings and electrical safety requirements.
Prepare and submit test reports, maintenance reports, checklists and other required documentation to the POD Foreman.
Support the preparation of spare parts lists for electrical maintenance activities.
Maintain and update the electrical maintenance logbook, including:
Work carried out
Equipment defects
Problems encountered
Inspection findings
Equipment condition
Maintenance activities and corrective actions
Ensure timely and accurate documentation for maintenance records and future reference.
Ability to work independently and demonstrate leadership qualities while carrying out electrical jobs efficiently and safely.
Follow all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, SOPs, maintenance procedures and work instructions.
Strictly comply with HSE, electrical safety, security and environmental procedures and requirements.
Ensure all maintenance and testing activities meet required quality and HSE standards.
Familiarity with SAP system is required.
Good command of English, both written and spoken.
Good understanding of applicable Electrical Standards.
🎓 MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
Technical Certificate / Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
⚡ KEY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
8+ YEARS PLANT EXPERIENCE in maintenance and testing of HV/MV electrical equipment, with strong hands-on experience in 380 KV GIS, GCBs, MV Switchgear, Large Power Transformers, Power Cables, Power Transformers, Instrument Transformers, Batteries and related electrical systems.
